Minecraft Meets Baldur's Gate
Some pretty serious weapons in a not-so-serious game.

This project is a collection of 3D models created in BlockBench, inspired by iconic weapons from Baldur’s Gate 3. Each model reflects a stylized interpretation of its in-game counterpart while embracing the blocky aesthetic suited for Minecraft's aesthetics.

I began by gathering visual references directly from in-game screenshots and online wikis to study the core design elements of each weapon—such as silhouette, color palette, and key features. Because BlockBench is a low-poly, cube-based modeling tool, I had to find creative ways to simplify complex shapes while preserving the essence of each weapon.

I blocked out the models using basic forms to get proportions right. From there, I refined details and added depth using subtle layering techniques and creative use of transparency where supported. I leaned into stylized exaggeration for readability, especially on smaller models like Crimson Mischief. Texturing was done directly in BlockBench using hand-painted techniques and custom palettes that reflect each weapon’s personality.
Throughout the process, I balanced fidelity to the original game with creative interpretation. My goal was not to copy exactly, but to translate these legendary weapons into a form that would feel right at home in a fantasy RPG Minecraft mod.
